Concert #1: Tangled in the Seaweed

Facilitated by the Royal Netherlands Embassy in Ottawa, the inaugural eMC concert featured Dutch harpist Idske Bakker of Insomnio and Vancouver percussionist Bruce Henczel amidst a dazzling array of electronics. Music by Heeneman, Polzoni, Henczel, Fitzell, Hannesson and de Leeuw.


Manifesto

Tradition is a False Prophet.

  • The fearful revere dusty approval from a crumbling audience.
  • The pathetic cling to the old and reject the new.
  • The feeble have made a graveyard of the concert hall.

Tradition is Barren.

  • The sycophant has been herded, blithely filtering and approving of only that which is palatable.
  • Like endless sides of beef, hanging from hooks in the slaughterhouse.
  • Only that which does not offend.
  • Only that which is profitable.
